After Long Yu had put away the key to his residence, he held Yao Ran's hand and said, "Let's go."

When they returned to Sector A, Long Yu checked the number on the key and went to find Area 5. Sector A has 20 areas, each with 100 residence units.

Long Yu followed the numbers on the doors and soon found residence number 20. Standing outside, he unlocked the door to his residence, and they stepped inside.

After closing the door, Long Yu took out his satellite phone from his backpack and dialed Shi Xuan's number. He tried a few times before the call finally connected.

After waiting for a few seconds, Shi Xuan's voice came through. "Captain, where are you guys?"

"We are in the underground shelter, living in Sector A." Long Yu replied and then asked, "Where are you?"

Shi Xuan was silent for a moment before answering, "I just finished the entry procedures, but I have been assigned to Sector B since Sector A is full."

Hearing this, Long Yu thought for a moment and said, "Come to Sector A, Area 5, number 20." Though unsure why Long Yu told him to go there, Shi Xuan replied, "Alright."

After ending the call, Long Yu turned to Yao Ran and explained, "A Xuan just arrived, but he has been assigned to Sector B. I'm planning to give him my unit so the three of us can live close to each other."

Understanding his intentions, Yao Ran looked at him thoughtfully before saying, "Alright. Then you two can live together."

Hearing what she said, Long Yu's expression dimmed slightly as he nodded in disappointment. "Mhm."

Seeing this, Yao Ran chuckled and hugged his waist. Looking up at him, she said, "I'm just teasing you."

When he heard this, Long Yu's eyes lit up as he stared at her expectantly, waiting for her to continue.

Yao Ran's heart softened at his reaction. "You can stay here with me," she said. "It will be more convenient for you to use the bathroom in my space."

The moment she said this, Long Yu hurriedly responded, "Alright. You can't go back on your word."

Yao Ran chuckled, nodded, and promised, "I won't go back on my word."

Hearing her promise, Long Yu hugged her and leaned down to kiss her on the lips. After a while, he pulled away and frowned as he sniffed his clothes.

He said, "We should take a bath first."

Yao Ran laughed at his expression and agreed.

After checking that the door was locked, Yao Ran brought Long Yu into her space. They tooka shower and had a meal before returning to the small living unit.

While Long Yu checked the living room and the bathroom, Yao Ran went to check the bedroom. Seeing only a small drawer beside the bed, she decided to redecorate it. While she was busy in the bedroom, Shi Xuan arrived.

When Long Yu saw what Shi Xuan was holding, he raised an eyebrow and asked, "Where did you get that giant shell and those legs?"

Shi Xuan placed the shell and legs on the ground and replied, "These are from the mutant desert beetle king's body. I killed it and thought the legs could be made into a sword while the shell could be used for armor, so I brought them back."

Hearing this, Long Yu realized something and asked, "You killed the mutant desert beetle king alone?"

"Yes." Shi Xuan answered calmly.

He then looked around and asked, "Captain, where is Yao Ran? Can you ask her to help me store these in her space for now? When we return to our place, I'm going to ask Han Yixue to help me turn them into weapons and armor."

Long Yu nodded and said, "I will go call her."

While Long Yu went to fetch Yao Ran, Shi Xuan waited outside, aware of the curious stares directed at him and his spoils of war. It wasn't long before Long Yu returned with Yao Ran. When Yao Ran saw the giant shell and legs, she remarked, "No wonder I couldn't find you at the wall. Turns out you went to hunt the mutant desert beetle king."

Shi Xuan smiled at her words and responded, "I wanted to inform you and Captain, but the mutant desert beetle king was too fast. I was afraid I'd lose sight of it, so I chased after it without having time to notify you two."

Yao Ran waved her hand and stored the giant shell and legs in her warehouse. "I'm just glad you are alright," she said.

Hearing her concern, Shi Xuan replied, "I'm sorry if I made you two worry."

Noticing that Shi Xuan was covered in dust and sand, Long Yu handed him a key and

explained, "This is for unit 19 next door. You can stay there."

Taking the key, Shi Xuan gave Long Yu a meaningful look before smiling at Yao Ran. "Thanks for taking him in so I can get a room to myself."

Catching the teasing tone in his voice, Yao Ran chuckled and asked, "Should I fill up the water for you?"

Since Shi Xuan didn't have any base coins, he readily agreed to her offer. "Yes, please."

Yao Ran looked at Long Yu and said, "Don't lock the door. I will be right back."

After saying that, she left with Shi Xuan.

As Shi Xuan unlocked the door, he said, "Yao Ran, thank you for accepting Captain. It's rare to see him this happy."n/o/vel/b//in dot c//om
